Abby’s Heroes are fortunate to have been supported by a number of sports groups including golf, football and indoor bowling clubs. One of our partnerships has been with Winchester Rugby Football Club who have selected Abby’s Heroes as the beneficiary of their Chairman’s Charity Lunch both in 2024 and 2026.

The 2026 match which saw Winchester play Chobham fundraised a magnificent £1791 primarily through a raffle, auction and collection. In fact, in total the club has donated over £3000 from the two events. On both occasions our mascot Abbycorn welcomed the teams on the pitch and met with supporters.

We are extremely grateful to Club Chairman Steve Barrow and everyone at Winchester RFC for their support. Steve commented “It was fantastic to support Abby’s Heroes both in 2024 and 2026 – they are an important local charity who make a difference to so many young people’s lives. Both events were a lot of fun with the local, rugby community really getting behind Abby’s Heroes.”

David Fawcett, Community Fundraiser for Abby’s Heroes added “We are grateful to Steve and his team for their fantastic support – it is only through the kindness of clubs like Winchester RFC that we can continue to support children with cancer and their families on the South Coast.”

If you know of a sports team who would be interested in supporting Abby’s Heroes please contact David on david@abbys-heroes.org
