We understand every family struggles in multiple ways when their child has cancer.
We have put together a list of charities and organisations who may offer specific areas of support hoping it will be of use to families. This list is not exhaustive and Abby’s Heroes is not responsible for the content of external websites. Young Lives vs Cancer (formerly CLIC Sargent)
Every child or Young Person will be allocated a named Young LivesvsCancer Social Worker for Piam Brown Ward or the Teenage and Young Adult Unit. They are experts in helping families handle the day-to-day challenges that come with a child’s cancer diagnosis. They are there to make sure families get the support they need throughout treatment. Signs and Symptoms
Signs and symptoms of cancer can get confused as they can also be indicative of many less serious illnesses. However, it is important to know what might be a cause for concern, as early diagnosis makes a huge difference to outcome.

Alfies Wish
Alfies Wish sends children with cancer (0-16 years) and their families on days out, with an aim to cover costs such as tickets, food and accommodation (if applicable).

Dylan's Quest provides magnificent memories for children and their families following diagnosis and makes grants for individuals, financial relief for families experiencing hardship.

Friends Fighting Cancer
FFC support people affected by cancer who live in the PO, SO and BH postcodes by providing financial grants can be used to cover a wide range of needs. These can include things such as household costs, a memorable time with the family (family meal, day trip or a visit to family), clothing or household items such as white goods, essential house maintenance or small adjustments.

George's Rockstars mission to make children in hospital smile as much as George did, starting with providing music therapy in childrens hospital wards.

Hannah's Appeal
Provide free holidays to children with cancer and life limiting illnesses and their families.

Isabel Baker Foundation
Provide grants for families for funeral costs, headstone costs, or living costs in the months after a child’s death as well as providing £50 M&S vouchers for families in hospital with their children. They buy specialised wet suits that allow children to be able to swim whilst they have their ports and infusion lines for chemotherapy.
