AFC Stoneham recently welcomed Abby’s Heroes mascot Abbycorn to a training session along with representatives from solicitor Womble Bond Dickinson.

Abbycorn joined David and Richard from Abby’s Heroes as well as Nikki, Jenny and Ella from Womble Bond Dickinson at a training session for the AFC Stoneham U10 Lionesses and U12 Lionesses to celebrate the exciting partnership between Abby’s Heroes and the club which was only made possible by the amazing support of the Southampton based solicitor.

Abbycorn met the two teams and their coaches Vicky, Sam and Lucy, put on her specially made AFC Stoneham shirt and then had a kick around with the teams although her goalkeeping skills were not as successful as she hoped!

Mark Stupple, Chairman of AFC Stoneham said “Everyone enjoyed meeting Abbycorn and the team from Womble Bond Dickinson, we are extremely excited to be supporting Abby’s Heroes over the next few years including being our chosen charity for our annual tournament in July. The U10 and U12 Lionesses proudly wear the Abby’s Heroes logo on their shirts and is just one example of how we work alongside the local community”.

The support from Womble Bond Dickinson will also enable AFC Stoneham to continue to grow and increase their involvement in grassroots football especially for girls and woman.

Nikki Powell, Partner and Community Engagement Lead at Womble Bond Dickinson commented “We’re incredibly proud to support Abby’s Heroes through a partnership with AFC Stoneham, backed by Womble Bond Dickinson sponsorship. This is about more than branding — it’s about bringing community, visibility and fundraising together in a way that can genuinely help local families.  By supporting girls’ teams at AFC Stoneham, the partnership helps give more girls the chance to play, be seen and feel proud to represent both their club and Abby’s Heroes, reinforcing the positive role that grassroots football can play in confidence, inclusion and aspiration all while helping to raise awareness of and funds for this charity’s vital work.”

David Fawcett from Abby’s Heroes added “The partnership we have with AFC Stoneham is very exciting and we can’t wait to work with them over the coming months whilst our collaboration with Womble Bond Dickinson has developed into a true partnership based around shared values and a real sense of community.”
