The Sporting Bears

When your child has been through treatment for cancer or is facing further treatment, it is very special to watch them have one of the best days.
The Sporting Bears Motor Club invited the children supported by Abby's Heroes, Mosaic - Supporting Bereaved Children and Julia's House Children's Hospices to join a day at Kingston Maurward House. The owners of the most incredible collection of cars gave the children a day they would not forget, taking them out for a spin in the cars. Roof down, smiles all round.
Sporting Bears is a car owners club for all types of car enthusiasts and they have lots interesting, unique, fast, classic, ‘quirky’ and ‘wow’ factor supercars. First and foremost, they are a traditional motor clubs that loves to do all the things car clubs normally do such as car meets, driving tours, track days and static displays at all the best motoring events in the UK. However, their primary goal and what makes them so unique, is that they raise money for UK children’s charities and put smiles on faces. This was one of their Dream Rides® events where they invited Abby’s Heroes and the families we support, to give them a day of respite, fun and memories. We can’t thank the drivers enough – they give their time and expenses free of charge to give our children a great dayl
One parent mentioned that she hadn't seen her son smile since his treatment had started but he had been smiling from the moment he arrived! This was such a brilliant day for children and parents. One neither will forget for so many reasons.
Thank you to every car owner for sharing your beautiful cars, to the organisers and to all volunteers. A day like this means so much to a family walking one of the hardest roads imaginable. They gave the children so much to smile about and gave the parents a day to remember.
