Palmerston Indoor Bowling Club in Fareham have chosen Abby’s Heroes as their Charity of the Year for 2026/27.

The club, led by President Maureen Tomlinson, have lots of plans for the year, starting with a Spinnaker Tower Abseil in September. Joining Maureen in taking the leap from the Tower will be Vice Presidents Phil Hawkes and Mandie Lawrence.

David, Richard and Abbycorn from Abby’s Heroes visited the club headquarters to launch the partnership, meet club members and wish Maureen, Phil and Mandie the best of luck for their abseil.

Maureen commented:

“Palmerston Indoor Bowling Club are delighted to be supporting Abby’s Heroes over the next year. We have lots of plans for the months ahead and we can’t wait to get started. The abseil seems like a great way to begin our fundraising and show we are willing to go over the edge for Abby’s Heroes!”

Whilst she was there, Abbycorn couldn’t resist having a quick bowls match, impressing members with her bowling skills – maybe she should join the club!

David Fawcett, Community Fundraiser at Abby’s Heroes, said:

“We are extremely grateful to Maureen, Phil, Mandie and everyone at Palmerston Indoor Bowling Club for their support. I am really excited about our partnership and the plans the club has for the next 12 months. It is only through the support of clubs like Palmerston that we can continue to support children with cancer and their families.”

If your club or group would like to support Abby’s Heroes, please contact David on david@abbys-heroes.org.
