Networking Under the Stars

It was wonderful to welcome so many businesses to join Abby's Heroes and Wonderseekers, the charity behind Winchester Science Centre, for an evening of networking with a difference, including a spectacular Sky at Night show in the Planetarium.

Kindly sponsored by a group of generous local businesses, more than 60 attendees from a wide range of industries came together to make new connections, share ideas and enjoy a truly unique experience.

Once inside the Planetarium, we journeyed through the night sky above Winchester, travelled across the ages, explored the beauty of Saturn, discovered the stories behind familiar constellations and gained a greater appreciation of our home galaxy, the Milky Way. The experience was both fascinating and humbling. The immense distances, unimaginable timescales and sheer scale of our universe left us all with plenty to think about.

We were delighted to be joined by The Right Worshipful the Mayor of Winchester, Councillor Jamie Scott, whose enthusiasm and energy helped make the evening even more special. Throughout the event, guests enjoyed lively conversation and plenty of laughter, before excitedly waiting to hear whether they had won one of the raffle prizes generously donated by our sponsors. Presenting the prizes, the Mayor later commented: ‘A big well done for this event, a brilliant evening!’

Events such as these are only possible thanks to collaboration and community support. We are also incredibly grateful to Laura Price for creating the beautiful Abby's Heroes and Wonderseekers-themed cookies, which were a huge hit with guests.
