Ferndown Golf Club’s Men’s Captain Charity of the Year for 2026

Abby’s Heroes are delighted to have been chosen as the Ferndown Golf Club’s Men’s Captain Charity of the Year for 2026.

We were fortunate to be invited to the clubs recent Annual Presentation Day where we were formally announced as Club Captain Jonathan Fretton’s Charity of the Year. In fact, not only will club members be fundraising for Abby’s Heroes throughout the year but Jonathan will be doing a sky dive for us too! Jonathan commented “I am really looking forward to working with Abby’s Heroes over the next 12 months, raising awareness of their important work and helping fundraise much needed funds. In fact, I’m even jumping out of a plane for Abby’s Heroes!”

At the event we were fortunate to meet the inspirational Jackie Allis, widow of Golf Legend Peter and Chair of Trustees at the Alliss Foundation. It was great to have a long conversation with Jackie about the work of Abby’s Heroes as well as the opportunity to give a presentation to members about our support for children with cancer and their families across the South Coast!

David Fawcett , Abby’s Heroes Community Fundraiser, said “I am really excited about our partnership with Ferndown Golf Club, everyone I have met is very enthusiastic and keen to get involved over the next 12 months. I am particularly grateful to Jonathan who is going above and beyond by sky diving for Abby’s Heroes.”
