Cycling the Extra Miles

The amazing team from Connect It Utility Services joined our CEO, Sally Randall, in the Cycle Challenge to Amsterdam and then went one step further by cycling all the way back too!
With static bikes kindly donated by Holly Hill Leisure Centre and logistics expertly coordinated by the fantastic CIUS warehouse team, the challenge became a company-wide effort. The bikes were delivered to Reception in Hedge End, where colleagues could take part throughout the event.
In total, 51 people participated across 78 cycling sessions, whether on the two bikes in reception, at the gym, or out on the road. Together, they covered an incredible 1,013.83 miles, exceeding the target by 413.82 miles. Even Abbycorn put hoof to pedal and joined in the fun!
Anna Linsdell, Connect It Utility Services Marketing Manager, commented: ‘It was a really amazing event and across the board, everyone was incredible inspired by Sally’s ride. There was lots of friendly competition and everyone really enjoyed doing something a different whilst doing their bit to support and raise money for Abby’s Heroes.’
This fantastic initiative raised an amazing £1,693 for Abby’s Heroes, Connect It Utility Services' Charity of the Year.
A huge thank you goes to CIUS suppliers, partners and employees whose generosity and enthusiasm made this event such a success. Every mile cycled and every pound donated will help make a difference to children and families facing childhood cancer.
