Charlie’s Angels
The family and friends of Charlie Travers came together at a recent Southampton FC Women’s football match to support three charities including Abby’s Heroes.
11-year-old Charlie was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic T Cell and her family and friends wanted to send out their love and best wishes to Charlie by arranging a mass “linked hand hold” around the St Mary’s Stadium pitch. The local community really came together to support Charlie with over a 1000 people joining hands around the pitch before the recent Saints v Blackburn Rovers game.
Southampton FC kindly donated hundreds of tickets for the game and Charlie’s family, friends and the local community really came together to show their support. Attendees donated to three charities – Abby’s Heroes, Young Lives vs Cancer and Southampton Hospital Charity, to date the event has raised £11,600 meaning each charity will receive nearly £4000 reach.
It was an amazing, emotional day full of fun, positivity and a few tears. Special thanks to Charlie’s Mum Colleen and her wonderful family and friends for making this exceptional event happen.
