We’re incredibly pleased to announce a new partnership between Abby’s Heroes and AFC Stoneham, with a number of fundraising and awareness initiatives planned over the next 18 months to support children with cancer and their families across the South Coast!

Founded in 1919, AFC Stoneham has grown to become the largest football club in the South of England and the second largest in the UK. The club has a strong history of supporting its local community, and we’re proud to be working alongside them as they continue to make a positive difference.

Through this partnership, AFC Stoneham will help raise vital funds for Abby’s Heroes while also helping us reach new audiences and raise awareness of the support we provide to families facing childhood cancer.

This partnership has been made possible thanks to the generous support of the Southampton office of law firm Womble Bond Dickinson, whose involvement will also enable AFC Stoneham to continue growing grassroots football – particularly for girls and women.

Nikki Powell, Partner at Womble Bond Dickinson, said:

“Womble Bond Dickinson are proud to help bring Abby’s Heroes and AFC Stoneham together in a fundraising partnership that will make a real difference for families facing childhood cancer on the South Coast. As a firm rooted in the region, we’re passionate about supporting community organisations and local sport, and we’re delighted this partnership will also help develop grassroots football for girls and women.”

David Fawcett, added:

“We’re absolutely delighted to be partnering with AFC Stoneham and are really excited to be involved in a number of initiatives with the club over the next 18 months. We’re extremely grateful to Nikki and the team at Womble Bond Dickinson for their amazing support over the last two years and for helping to make this partnership happen.”

Mark Stupple, Chairman of AFC Stoneham, said:

“We’re looking forward to supporting Abby’s Heroes in a number of ways, including making them our chosen charity for our annual tournament, which attracts over 5,000 people. Several of our teams will proudly wear Abby’s Heroes on their shirts, and we’ll be encouraging our teams to get actively involved with the charity.”

As part of the partnership, AFC Stoneham has already unveiled two new perimeter boards promoting Abby’s Heroes at their stadium in Eastleigh. We were delighted to join Mark and Vicky Edwards from AFC Stoneham, along with Nikki Powell from Womble Bond Dickinson, to celebrate the launch of this exciting partnership.

We’re so grateful to everyone involved and look forward to working together to make a meaningful difference for children and families who need us most ⚽
