Hello, I’m Darcy 💛
I was born on 21st March 2025. I was very poorly with an incurable brain tumour from August 2025, but I was so brave and always had lots of smiles on my face.
I had lots of treatment to help me. I had chemotherapy, blood transfusions and some big brain procedures. I spent every day in hospital from the day I was diagnosed, especially on the Neurological Ward at Southampton General Hospital.
That’s where my mummy and daddy met Abby’s Heroes.
Abby’s Heroes were there for me mummy and daddy from the beginning. They especially looked after us on the days when things felt really scary and hard.
That’s why Abby’s Heroes are such an important part of my story
And even though I was poorly, I still had lots of happy moments. I loved being with my mummy and daddy, and they loved me more than anything in the whole world.
Towards the end of my journey, I went to Naomi House Hospice. I stayed there for two very special weeks and had so much fun. I went swimming, had baby chinos at Costa, watched lots and lots of Disney films and enjoyed McFlurrys from McDonald’s. I had so many cuddles and was surrounded by people who loved me.
On 25th October 2025, I got my wings and went somewhere peaceful
I may not be here anymore, but I’m always close to my mummy and daddy and everyone who loves me.
After I got my wings, Darcy’s Dream was created in my name. And now my dream is growing!
My next chapter is to help the neurological ward.
My time on the Neurological Ward at Southampton General Hospital was a big part of my story
So my mummy and daddy want to work with Abby’s Heroes to help other poorly children and their families.
They want to help make the ward a happier and more comfortable place, hopefully helping to improve the kitchen for families, and provide welfare packs and grants for families who need a little extra help.
I may not be here in person anymore, but my story hasn’t ended
My story lives on through every poorly child we help, every family we support and every little bit of happiness we can bring to someone who needs it.
So please help my dream keep growing.
